After 2 months in findland, I had the time to discover Findland and its surroundings.
In Findland, I have firstly discover kuopio the the city who I live and its countryside.
After, I did a journey in Helsinki and Tallinn. This trip allow me to see other friend from esdes because all of us come in helsinki at the same time. I did also this trip with other erasmus student.
During this trip in Helsinki we visited some different church, we had a quite look of the city center. He also saw the harbor.
After this first step in Helsinki, we planned to go to Tallinn in Estonia. In Tallinn we visited the old city. There are some old building, some church to see in Tallinn. In the old city there are also many point of view to enjoy all the city.
After this trip in the South compared with Kuopio we wanted to discover Lapland.
So we take the bus to levi, the biggest ski resort in findland.
The first day we visited the Santa Claus village, and the snow village. In fact the snow village is a hotel entirely made of ice and a bar entirely made in glace (even the glasses are ice).
The second day we do a husky trip. Doing dog sledding was like a dream for me. It was amazing. Before trying dog sledding, a women explained us a lot of things about dog : How long they can run? What temperature they can withstand? How the dogs are organising to pulled the sled?
After this amazing time, we went to the ice Karting. The karting had studded tire. In spite of this tire it was very sliding. With ice karting we have the feeling of slid and speed.
The 3rd day we did downhill skiing in the morning. Ski track is shorter and less steep than in France. But, it was great to be able to ski in Lapland.
In the afternoon we had the chance to do snowmobile. It was also incredible.
At the evening, we had the opportunity to do snowshoes.
We ate in the top of the mountain in a hut. After all we went down the mountain with a guide. It was a very soothing walk in the darkness and silence.
The day after we did downhill skiing all the day.
This trip was really amazing. We have learn and practice about nordic winter activities.
Now juste little words about finnish people.
During these trips, we had the opportunity to meet a lot a finnish people.
Finnish people are discreet and polite people. There are very attentive to everything that has to do with the protection of nature.
But what I most remember is that Finnish people are very affable. Of someone has a problem it will all do to solve it. They stop what they were actually doing to help you.
See you for the next trip ST.Petersburg, Novgorod and Moscow.
